(used up my quota of Whoa's)

That is just ridiculous... I don't think a Dunk has ever caused my jaw to drop... this one did.

he threw the ball in the hoop like dwight did
  3. JShow34 SRMer

It's just not as exciting when a guy almost 7 foot dunks on a hoop. He's a great athlete but when Vince Carter used to do things like that there was more of a wow factor for me.
  4. brothers11 SRMer

This one probably bumped one of the other 800 dunks from last night from the Sportcenter highlights.

I like the Youtube comments best! " My grandmama gave me that chain..."
  6. gribbzz SRMer

This will be the top play on sportscenter top 10 which is ridiculous. This was so much easier than a lot of the top plays that usually come in behind it. Like Lebron's dunk being the top play yesterday over a guy who did a front flip on a snowmobile. I am sorry but there is nothing you could do on a basketball court that deserves being ahead of a guy flipping a snowmobile. Just another reason I dislike basketaball, these guys do things that you should expect out of tall people and get praised for it.

hahaha I'm with you. I am a hockey guy so I always see these ridiculous plays as like #9 or something and then somebody dunking over somebody else is always #'s 2 and 1. If it happens that often, why is it considered special?
  8. dolfan2004 SRMer

I'm with you for the most part... but, IMO, that one was pretty damn impressive, mostly because he threw the ball through with the velocity of a Randy Johnson fastball... the whole thing just sounded violent.
  9. brothers11 SRMer

Yea this was better than most, but it still doesn't diminish my frustration

That was amazing. I was falling asleep last night and that woke me up. I'm still going nuts about it. He may be the most must see player in the league, one of, if not the most exciting player. You never know when somethings going to happen..... well unless he plays the knicks...

Just a shame Gordon is not there but was instead sent to the Hornets...

    My twitter exploded last night.

This would be impressive if he actually dunked it. The ball was already through the hoop by the time his finger grazed the rim. I'll take a jumper at the buzzer with a hand in the face over this every day.

This one from last night was a dunk. He got a few fingers on the rim unlike the one on Mozgov.
  15. cmnelson1987 SRMer

After he had already thrown the ball. Look at the 27 second mark. The ball is already coming out of his hand and he isn't anywhere near the hoop.

To me, this is the equivalent of an NFL player trying to make a 1 handed catch when they can easily get both hands to the ball. It looks good, but when he drops the pass or throws the ball off the back of the rim, you realize it was an unnecessary risk to try and make a play look better than it was.

I guess you were hoping for one of the many "one-timers" to make the list?
  17. KMoney Administrator

Maybe it's just me, but as much as I love watching Griffin, I don't want to see him in the dunk contest. He just is athletic and dunks hard and on people. Unless one of his dunks is dunking on Dwight Howard I don't think I would want to see him in it.

On that note, was it last year or 2 years ago LeBron said he was doing it? I don't believe he will regardless just curious.

    One upped Blake Griffin...

  19. gco211 Moderator

That player was in the perfect position to take a charge only move his left foot for no reason at all. Now he has a highlight dunk against him instead.
  20. dolfan2004 SRMer

In the defender's defense... who the hell expects to have someone throw down a MJ Space Jam stretch dunk on them?
  21. gco211 Moderator

A person who keeps their feet steady as a good defenseman would in that situation. It would end the "attack" early.
  22. Bpow0407 SRMer

They play defense in the NBA?
  23. gco211 Moderator

    It wasn't the NBA.
  24. JShow34 SRMer

Blake Griffin is an unathletic version of Shawn Kemp. That just tells you what an amazing athlete Shawn Kemp was.
  25. JShow34 SRMer

One of the best dunks ever!! Over 7 foot Alton Lister in a playoff game. The finger point at the end is fantastic!

  26. brothers11 SRMer

Yes, I'd rather see the play that requires the most skill to execute.
  27. ACC Rulez SRMer

Does NBC Sports have something similar to SportsCenter? - Or maybe you are going to have to watch the NHL channel, but you might be in the minority on that one.
  28. ACC Rulez SRMer

I am not sure I would categorize Blake Griffin as an "unathletic version" of anything. He may be less dependent on his athletism, but I just wouldn't use that word to help describe Griffin.
  29. brothers11 SRMer

No argument from me that I am in the minority, just layin the facts out there.
  30. KMoney Administrator

    One of my favorite highlights.
