Phil Coke throws. A lot.
"He wants to pitch every day, no matter how much he threw the day before," Tigers pitching coach Jeff Jones said. "He's never said, 'I can't pitch,' and he probably never will."
If Coke had his way, he would break the Tigers' record for games for a pitcher in a season -- 88, by lefties Mike Myers (1997) and Sean Runyan (1998). He also would break the major league record -- 106, by the Dodgers' Mike Marshall in 1974.
