Forget about losing their heart in San Francisco. The Rockies on Sunday lost a flyball in the sun that captured the odd, disappointing nature of their season.
The day began with a pregame meeting conducted by the Rockies' assistant general manger and the game featured a starter on a pitch count, a piggyback reliever hitting in the clutch, co-pitching coaches offering advice and a bullpen unable to secure the first winning road trip of the season.
Other than that, it was a typical afternoon at AT&T Park.
