Rockets guard Kyle Lowry underwent surgery to correct a sports hernia Tuesday and will be out for six to eight weeks before he can begin offseason workouts.

Lowry had said last week that the condition had been bothering him for the past two seasons, but more so this season, especially after also suffering a groin injury in early March.
