The losses don't matter, which is good since the Raiders have now lost six straight preseason games dating back to last year.
The injuries are what kill teams, and Oakland almost took a few on the chin Friday night in a 31-27 loss to the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Receiver Jacoby Ford left the game with a sprained foot late in the first quarter and was later seen on the sideline with crutches. Backup running back Mike Goodson had a miserable debut for the Raiders, fumbling twice before leaving in the second quarter with what coach Dennis Allen called "weakness in his shoulder."
And then No. 2 quarterback Matt Leinart left to get two stitches on his right hand after a blatant late hit by Cardinals third-team nose tackle Ricky Lumpkin. Luckily, Leinart is a lefty. Receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey sprained his shoulder.
