The injuries are what kill teams, and Oakland almost took a few on the chin Friday night in a 31-27 loss to the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Receiver Jacoby Ford left the game with a sprained foot late in the first quarter and was later seen on the sideline with crutches. Backup running back Mike Goodson had a miserable debut for the Raiders, fumbling twice before leaving in the second quarter with what coach Dennis Allen called "weakness in his shoulder."
And then No. 2 quarterback Matt Leinart left to get two stitches on his right hand after a blatant late hit by Cardinals third-team nose tackle Ricky Lumpkin. Luckily, Leinart is a lefty. Receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey sprained his shoulder.
