It has been exactly one week since former Predators defenseman Ryan Suter decided to sign with the Minnesota Wild. And as the attention from Suter has slowly shifted to Predators defenseman Shea Weber, a restricted free agent, General Manager David Poile has been at work trying to procure Weber's services for the long-term.

"I talked to (his agent) Jarrett (Bousquet) yesterday and had a good conversation," Poile said. "Shea and all his friends and people will be together this weekend for his charity golf tournament in his name in Sicamous (British Columbia). They're going to be doing that and then we're going to talk next week."

Poile added that his talks with Weber recently have been constructive in nature.
