Got it. Nothing to be discussed but the series as it relates to the players, as the original post was intended. No conversations that sprout out of the discussion. Pure focus on the original topic. I'll keep that in mind when I read your posts.

It's not like we were discussing restaurants that happen to have quality flavored sweet teas, we were discussing the broadcasting of the series! Oops, that was another ridiculous comparison and has nothing to do with the subject line of this thread; guess I messed this all up again.

And I've been waiting to have meaningful conversation with you about the broadcasts of THIS SERIES, but you keep refusing. So, guess that's that. Moving on...

The only thing that saves Edwards, is he has Adam Brinkley at his side. Brinkley is very respected and was called in regularly for national broadcasts on Versus, even though that has changed since NBC took over. Edwards is a goof and very biased but he at times, will tell it like it is. They called out and ridiculed Marchand for his 3 attempted dives on one shift in game 4 as one example. You never hear those Root guys saying anything bad about Bettman's appointed America's team.

The NBC guys do a great job, their job is to call the game as they see it not slant the talk to one team. I don't think the local guys should be slanting the talk towards the hometown team either but some do. It takes away from the game to listen to people like Stegie, Errey and Edwards. It's more of a nuance on the ears than anything.

Anyhow, congrats on beating the Pens. I very rarely cheer against the Flyers. So far, these playoffs have been a dream. Canadiens didn't qualify, Canucks out, Red Wings out, Pens out, Sharks out, the Rangers and Devils on the brink by lower seeds, Bruins staying alive. All the teams I dislike are out or heading that way, it doesn't get any better than this for this fan.

But I hope Rangers, Devils, and Caps win. That way we face the Devils next round, and hopefully the Rangers after that. I really want to beat the Rangers in the playoffs, because I don't think we deserve a Cup without beating them. Either way, I'll take it obviously, but it was embarrassing being swept by them this year, and I just want the Flyers to take it to them in the playoffs. It would also be REALLY cool to beat 3 teams from 1 division en route to the Cup. Has that ever been done in the current division format?

It would have been recent and I haven't clue. It would be tough I would think.
