This isn't Paul Konerko's first slump, and it won't be his last. So the White Sox' No. 2 all-time home-run hitter and RBI guy knows there's only one way to get through it — keep on grinding.
"The game gets to you sometimes; sometimes it doesn't,'' Konerko said before the game Tuesday. "I can only control the work I put in.''
Konerko, who was batting .223 with three homers since he peaked at .399 on May 27, said the wrist that caused him to miss a few days is fine.
