Carmelo Anthony insists that he is not responsible for running Mike D'Antoni out of town and worries that he could earn a reputation of being a "coach killer."
"Yeah, of course that bothers me because I never want that label on me," Anthony said at practice on Thursday. "I did everything in my power to try to communicate with Coach Mike."
D'Antoni resigned as Knicks coach Wednesday afternoon with an 18-24 record amid reports that he was losing the locker room and that he couldn't coach Anthony, the player D'Antoni wasn't in favor of acquiring in the first place last February.
