Muhammad Wilkerson offered some good-natured trash talking without saying a word.
On the first play of team drills on the final day of Jets minicamp last week, he batted down Mark Sanchez's pass at the line of scrimmage before channeling his inner Dikembe Mutombo.
Wilkerson wagged his finger.
"He's going to be hard to ignore," Rex Ryan said.
Wilkerson is poised to make a leap in his second season on a defense primed to return to dominance. Ryan has repeatedly likened the second-year defensive lineman's work ethic and ascension to All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis, high praise for a player that showed flashes of brilliance as a rookie.
"Revis is Revis out there," Ryan said. "Every day he competes. (Wilkerson) has some of the ability where I think (he) can take it to that next level. Can he be Revis? I don't know."
