Josh Hamilton broke an 11-game home run slump Monday night, hours after Rangers president Nolan Ryan joined a local radio show to discuss Hamilton's June struggles.
Even with Monday night's effort, Hamilton is hitting only .197 with nine RBIs in 76 at bats during the month.
"Right now I think Josh's approach at the plate is as poor as I've seen it since he's been here," Ryan said on The Galloway and Company show on 103.3 [KESN-FM]. "He's in a funk, he just is in between, he's swinging at a lot of bad pitches and I'm certainly not the hitting coach so it wouldn't be right for me to sit here and tell you what I think he ought to be doing, but I think he's really out of sync right now and why that is I don't have the answer to that."
