The Stars and defenseman Mark Fistric have agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth $1.475 million, avoiding an arbitration hearing scheduled for August 1.
Fistric, 26, will receive a raise from $1.25 million, and also could have the ability to become an unrestricted free agent next summer if the rules of the current collective bargaining agreement regarding free agency do not change.
Fistric was taken 28th overall in the first round of the 2004 entry draft by the Stars and has played all of his 257 NHL games with Dallas. He has just 23 points in his career (3G, 20A) and had just two points last season in 60 games.
