Terry Collins addressed the Mets after their 6-2 loss to the Colorado Rockies Tuesday at Citi Field.
There was no yelling, no screaming, but for the third time this season he decided that it was time to emphasize a point to his team.
The manager was not happy with his team's execution, and while he said that he doesn't think they have packed it in for the season, the optics were not in their favor.
"We have not packed it in but as I told the guys, in our game, perception is reality and when you sit on the outside and watch a game like tonight, the perception is they packed it in," he said. "And I won't stand for it. I believe in accountability. I believe in how you play the game right.
