Steve Gregory boarded an airplane Wednesday morning in what may signal the beginning of the end of his time in San Diego.
The reserve strong safety, who's started 31 games the past four seasons for the Chargers in a pinch, wants to land a starting NFL job. With the Chargers not ready to make that commitment, Gregory hit the open market Tuesday looking for the team that will.
Three teams have expressed interested in hosting Gregory on a visit, a league source said Wednesday. The source did not disclose which team was Gregory's first visit but added Gregory is being recruited as a starting safety.
