Hey AD, love the column man. Any new updates on Joey Hishon? It's almost been a year now that he's been off the ice. I know he was doing some offseason workouts with some of the Avs so I was hopeful he'd be back on the ice this year. At this point, could we say his return and career is in jeopardy?

No, Tyler, there is really no good update. Hishon's still sidelined by concussion-type symptoms a year after taking a dirty hit from Brayden McNabb (now with the Buffalo Sabres) in a Memorial Cup playoff game last spring. McNabb probably should have gotten a 20-game suspension for what he did.

Instead, he got one. It was a totally dirty, gutless, blindside left elbow to the head as Hishon skated across the ice. Hishon went down and blood came from his head. He has not played since, and there simply is no way to say when or if the former first-round pick of the Avs will come back.
