Patrick Kane's season ended rather ignominiously when he was ejected in the waning minutes of Game 6 against the Coyotes after letting frustration get the best of him.
"The ref was kind of like, 'Get this guy out of the game,' " Kane said Wednesday with a sheepish smile. "I was just kind of slashing (Coyotes) like Paul Bunyan out there. I ... apologized to the ref after, but it was due to frustration."
The season had its share of frustration for Kane, who began it at center after playing right wing the first four seasons of his NHL career. He shifted back to wing before returning to the middle, and when the Blackhawks' 2012-13 season gets under way, Kane apparently will be looked at again as the answer at No. 2 center.
