On a serene Sunday morning in a FedExForum filled with Grizzlies faithful excited to finally enter a lockout-shortened season, team owner Michael Heisley and general manager Chris Wallace walked onto a stage and hosted a pep rally of sorts.
It was a session that preceded the team's open practice before the 66-game, 2011-12 regular season — but Heisley and Wallace actually faked their excitement. They were worried and distracted by the no-yet-public news that forward Darrell Arthur suffered a season-ending Achilles injury earlier in practice.
