The answer popped out immediately from Ryan Getzlaf's mouth when the Ducks' captain was asked what he'd like to do with his 2011-12 season.

"Forget about it," he said, managing a tired smile.

When sifting through the Ducks' wreckage of a season, Getzlaf's own mess is right on top of the heap. The big center has gone without injury for the first time in three years, but his game has been hurting for months.

For instance, Getzlaf scored his 10th goal of the season Tuesday night against Vancouver in the Ducks' 80th game to avoid the embarrassment of going through a full year without reaching double figures.

Pearl Jam's "Ten" was an achievement. This one wasn't.
