Kevin Faulk has watched Patriots games as a spectator. The veteran running back has viewed games from the sidelines as an injured player and, in the case of Super Bowl XLVI in February, a healthy scratch.
But this was weird. Faulk watched Thursday night's preseason opener between the Patriots and Saints perched in front of the television at his home not far from Gillette Stadium. He said it felt a bit like having an out-of-body experience.
"It was very odd, but it is what it is," Faulk told the Herald Friday. "It was weird knowing I'm not there, but not in a sense of just being totally weird. I don't know. It was different."
