By the time you read this, maybe the Orioles have completed a deal for Joe Blanton. Or Chase Headley. Or Rafael Betancourt.

But what if they don't get any of them? Or anyone else, for that matter? As an Orioles fan, how does that make you feel?

As up and down as the Orioles have been since they cooled off from their hot start, they clearly need another piece or maybe two to stay in contention for one of the American League wild cards. The club's biggest move so far, picking up designated hitter Jim Thome, has become a question mark with Thome experiencing neck problems.
