The Oilers have signed this year's first-overall draft pick to a three-year deal.
Details of the entry-level contract with right-winger Nail Yakupov were not released.
"We're very happy to sign Nail to a three-year contract. He's an extremely talented and passionate young man who we feel will be an integral part of our team for many years to come," said General Manager Steve Tambellini.
The maximum a player can be paid on an entry-level contract is $925,000.
