Scott Rolen was not in the lineup Friday night after the four-day All-Star Break. Todd Frazier started at third base and hit seventh.
Rolen missed six games with back spasms just before the break. He played in the final game before the break.
Is he healthy?
"He's OK," Reds manager Dusty Baker said. "I told you don't be asking everyday about Rolen and Frazier. He didn't play for (six) days. Part of it is matchup. Part of it is reps — allowing him to get some swings in (in batting practice)."
Frazier has clearly outhit Rolen to this point. Frazier went into Friday hitting .278 with nine home runs and 29 RBI in 180 at-bats. Rolen was hitting .178 with three home runs and 16 RBI in 129 at-bats.
"We've got a plan," Baker said.
