D-Backs thread:2011 NL West Division Champs.

Discussion in 'MLB & College Baseball Discussion' started by The Rattler, Jun 28, 2009.

  1. The Rattler SRMer

A new thread for us D-Backs fans and any person who comes here and say you're a fan of the D-Backs then you're a fan...

This thread is basically for worthless posts and gametime notes...

I thought about asking Robdog for team boards but that would cheapen the board overall....

"Howl at the moon" is a Coyotes thread and I'm going to keep that thread for us 30 Coyotes fans....

I'm listening to the D-Backs game right now and I want to puke to be honest....
  2. maher789 SRMer

Or you can just post this in the Diamondbacks thread?
  3. The Rattler SRMer

I could but I'm just too lazy to look at the past posts of this board and my newbie label is pretty much gone...

This thread will live as long as I'm here and I'm thinking that will be a very long time...
  4. mason54 Banned

I watched the highlights of the game...I'm pretty sure I've seen little league teams field better..
  5. The Rattler SRMer

This is a painful team to watch... My sister called me yesterday and told me the circus was in town and I asked her who was pitching??:bonk:
  6. mesahotguy5 SRMer

I am fully convinced AJ Hinch and Josh Byrnes will be canned this offseason. If I were the manager I would send every single player down and call up my AAA team.
  7. detna3333 SRMer

Problem is most guys they play now are AAA Caliber
  8. mesahotguy5 SRMer

True that but at least AAA guys will hustle and be hungry. These guys know they have jobs and are completely complacent. I dont care if you suck, as long as you bust your ass out there.
  9. The Rattler SRMer

The most errors in baseball and AJ Hinch has yet to win a series at home.. You would be correct that Josh Byrnes and AJ Hinch should be sent packing and the only two untouchables are Dan Haren and Justin Upton...

I heard the D-Backs are in trade talks with the Brewers about Doug Davis but they said are asking price is too high..
  10. detna3333 SRMer

Not to mention Josh Byrnes gave up all the farm system.
  11. The Rattler SRMer

The only trade Byrnes made that made any sense was for Dan Haren..

I don't pay a lot of attention to the farm system like I should but we still have a few decent players like McClareth and Whitsel...
  12. MookStunna SRMer

Any news on Schlereth to tell me about? I am a big fan of his old man...ex Bronco Mark Schlereth.
  13. The Rattler SRMer

That's the name I was thinking about... Let me look into that and I'll get back to you...
  14. mesahotguy5 SRMer

Yeah but it was a trade that worked to our benefit. Haren is one of the best pitchers this year. I think he has been underrated the past few years too, even when he was with Oakland. Also his record is not indicative of his performance at all this year. He was up 7-1 in one game and the bullpen blew it.
  15. mesahotguy5 SRMer

Whitesell is with the club currently. Has been a lot this year. Really hasnt impressed. Ryan Roberts & Gerardo Parra are having much better years.

Schlereth was with the club for about 2 weeks and had 1 or 2 good performances but the others got ROCKED!

While youre looking can you find anything on Jarrod Parker?
  16. The Rattler SRMer

Whitesell is still on the roster? I thought he got demoted? I'll look into it..

As much as I hate to say this, I wish Byrnes would have had Matt Williams coach this team....

AJ Hinch is not a manager and it shows in the club house as well as in the stands...
  17. mesahotguy5 SRMer

I thought he still was. May not be anymore but was for a while.
  18. The Rattler SRMer

The latest report on Brandon Webb has decided not to have shoulder surgery after he consulted with three different doctors and there's even a slight chance he could play in September and that move wouldn't make any sense to me at all... He might as well shut it down for the season..
  19. mesahotguy5 SRMer

Yeah even if he could come back right now, its not worth it. Its a lost season, lets not make it worse by having our ace never be the same again.

On a more pitiful note, we got 2 hit last night.
  20. The Rattler SRMer

I just heard a depressing stat on the radio.. The D-Backs are 1-15 the game after Haren pitches..
  21. The Rattler SRMer

You're in the Snakepit-The summer of our miscontent..

Dan Haren and Justin Upton will represent Arizona in the 2009 all-star game...
  22. The Rattler SRMer

Sorry it look me so long to get back to you as this slipped my mind.. He's on the minor 7 day DL right now and hasn't pitched since June 22nd.. He has a 1.14 ERA with three saves with a 0-0 record... 31k's and 14 walks

I expect him to be on the 40 man roster on September 1st and should be on the big club next year out of spring Training..
  23. The Rattler SRMer

Jarrod Parker is in Mobile and won't make the 40 man roster..

    He's 4-3 2.93 ERA 12 GS 58.1 IP 19 ER 26 BB 56 K
  24. The Rattler SRMer

Finally!!! A five game winning streak which is our best since April 2008.. Our first series sweep since September 2008 and we just sent the San Diego Padres to the cellar in the NL West...

Ever since Mark Reynolds went off on a tirade against his own team then the team has responded and I think it's safe to say Mark Reynolds is the new leader of the D-Backs and I'm glad he did it.. Somebody had too!!!

There were players on this team dogging it and as a fan then that's something that's not acceptable...
  25. The Rattler SRMer

Just when I thought it was safe to give my D-Backs some positive love and look what my D-Backs did too me!!!

I watched a movie called "The Bad News Bears" in the 70's and then I got to see a sequel of the movie last night except it wasn't a movie... It was the REAL thing...

I was feeling good winning five in a row and we had a 7-0 lead heading into the 6th inning and we give up three runs...

The score is 7-3 heading into the 7th and I feel the noose tightening and the Marlins score another run heading into the 8th to make it 7-4...

Then comes the 8th inning and you can start playing The Bad News Bears music....

You guessed it... An embarrasing 10 run 8th to give the Marlins a 14-7 lead...

    There is no GOD!!!
  26. The Rattler SRMer

A nice job by my D-Backs taking 3 out of 4 from the Pittsburgh Pirates but now the Philadelphia Phillies loom...

I feel like that fat little kid from the movie "The Little Giants" and looking at the sky and say "Help us GOD"
  27. mesahotguy5 SRMer

We have a brutal stretch coming up. Past 2 games have been promising though, granted they were the Buccos. I know were OBVIOUSLY not doing anything this season but if they could just post some good effort and play fundamental baseball Id be happy. Its been a year from hell with Young in a major slump, Webb hurt Day 1, our bullpen being human gas cans, Conor Jackson having every illness known to mankind, and having bats made in Antarctica.
  28. moyer vs garland tonight. interesting matchup. i feel like garland is the type of pitcher the phils hit around. moyer fares well tonight after ruining the phils win streak, mostly because zona is an aggressive swinging team, and moyer loves pitching against those teams.
  29. The Rattler SRMer

The thing about Jon Garland is that he sucks on his home turf and has an ERA OF OVER 6,00...

    Good luck Phillies fans...
  30. mesahotguy5 SRMer

Yeah Garland has stated he hates pitching at home.
