Randy Wolf is certainly not the only starting pitcher behind whom the Brewers' bullpen has performed poorly this season.
It only seems that way.
Another Wolf start, another dismal showing by the bullpen Saturday night. The result this time was an 8-6 interleague victory at U.S. Cellular Field by the Chicago White Sox, who scored the final four runs of the game.
It was the fourth consecutive start in which in which Wolf departed with a lead and the sixth time in his last nine outings, only to take home a loss or no-decision. It has gotten so ridiculous that manager Ron Roenicke second-guessed himself for removing Wolf in the sixth inning with a 6-4 lead, a runner on second and one out.
"I know it's the right way to do it to take 'Wolfie' out there but I questioned it after things kept happening," said Roenicke. "Even though I think it's the right move, I feel bad about it.
