Congrats, I was a doubter as well. Like I said in the superbowl thread, awesome to see a first time winner of the superbowl.

Kudos to your team and your city. That win was hard fought and well deserved.

The LT angle is interesting. Note the failed 4th down. LT may not have his burst or a 17 TD season in him but he had 11 this year and with a good rotation of backs, he could be the short yard situational back. He also has thrown a TD or more over the years.

Gregg Williams will likely be a HC, now or soon in the future. Gruden has the right when he wants to get a HC ring and I doubt he would come back as staff of any kind. Guess you are just stuck with shitty ol' ball coach, Sean Payton. When will he ever win anything...?

Yeah so it is ridiculous the news reports around this game now. Almost every one of them are saying that New Orleans is all of a sudden alright now after Katrina because a football team won a championship. Pathetic.

It makes me glad that the Yankees didn't win in 2001 because they would have said the same thing post 9/11. I hate gimmicky news reporting, which it all is so I guess I hate news reporting.

I was on bourbon st all night last night. I think we rolled in sometime in the wee hours this morning. It was absolute insanity! The strangest calm came over the city at kick off, it was amazing and I am so glad I had the opportunity to be in that number last night. That team made a city, state, and the entire who dat nation come together as 1 no matter who you were or what you looked like. Amazing is the only was to describe it. Never have I seen nopd HUGGING people before!

You just have to love this. Nice ante for 2010 Sean Payton... from Peter King MMQ today:

I smell a nice rivalry cooking.
On Friday night, the Saints' staff at the combine gathered in a private room at St. Elmo Steakhouse, an 108-year-old Indy landmark, for a final celebratory nod to the Super Bowl win over the Colts. This is a group that likes its wine, and likes to have fun.

At the restaurant, word passed that Dallas owner Jerry Jones would have his Dallas group in this exact room Saturday night for a team dinner. Jones had even phoned ahead, according to a waiter, to make sure a magnum of a wine he loved, Caymus Special Selection cabernet sauvignon, was ready to be served at dinner.
Sean Payton told the waiter he'd like to have that wine, too. The waiter told him:
Sorry, sir. We have only one bottle left, and it's reserved for Mr. Jones.
Payton said he'd like to have the bottle nonetheless. I assume there was much angst on the part of the wait staff at that point. My God! Who do we piss off? One of the most powerful owners in the NFL, or the coach who's the toast of the NFL, the coach who just won the Super Bowl?

Here came the bottle of Caymus Special Selection, and the Saints' party drained it.
But drinking Jones' wine wasn't enough. Payton gave the waiter some instructions, took out his pen ... and, well, the Cowboys party found at the middle of their table the next evening an empty magnum of Caymus Special Selection cabernet sauvignon, with these words hand-written on the fancy label:

WHO DAT!
World Champions XLIV
Sean Payton

That's the kind of thing Jones will get a big laugh out of. And remember.

Okay, but given the St. Elmos fetish of both Payton and Jones, which one is Payton and which is Jones. My vote is Payton is Estevez and Jones is Lowe.

The New Orleans Saints will play the New England Patriots, the San Diego Chargers, the Houston Texans and the Tennessee Titans in the 2010 preseason, according to a schedule the NFL released Wednesday afternoon.

The defending Super Bowl champions will first travel to New England at a date and time to be determined, and then host the Texans, the first time the Saints will play on home turf since beating Minnesota in overtime in the NFC Championship to send New Orleans to Super Bowl XLIV.

The Saints third preseason game is also in the Superdome and will be televised by CBS on Friday, August 27, at 8 p.m. That game against the Chargers will pit Saints quarterback Drew Brees against his former NFL team.

The Saints conclude their preseason slate in Nashville against the Titans at a date and time to be determined. The NFL’s regular season will begin on Thursday, Sept. 9 in the Superdome but the Saints’ opening opponent has still not been announced by the league.

I still think he's a douchebag of a person. I have been waiting to vent this for over a week. I went to a party he threw in DC a few weeks ago, 10+ Saints players were promised to be there, plus 5-6 other nfl players. Sharper and his brother were the only two who showed up (I know can't blame him for the others not showing). What I was most pissed about was I paid $50/ticket to get myself and my buddy I watch all the games with in. It was $25 at the door to get in...pissed. They promoted it as a cocktail party and semi-formal attire was required. I get that some girls are hoochies (not me) and were going to wear stuff that showed everything off, thats fine...but jeans? Seriously, they allowed people to wear jeans to the fucking thing. Me, I wore a damn fucking dress, y'all should know me by now that I'm not the girly girl type...me in a dress was awkward! The kicker, he showed up, walked straight to his table, and NOBODY could go near him...so I paid $100 to stand in a fucking room with him, I'd have kept my $100. I complained to his people that promoted the event...they offered me free admission to their college graduation celebration at the end of May. I have ZERO desire to party with 22 year olds (if you dirty old guys in DC wanna go let me know you can have my tickets). Rant is over

I haven't posted in a while so here it goes:

Draft

1. Patrick Robinson- Great Pick IMO. Would have loved to have Kyle Wilson ( as im a Boise fan), but Robinson gives us one of the best secondary's in the NFL now. This also allows Jenkins to be moved to FS. We will be 5 CB's deep that can come in a cover any WR when needed. Greer & Porter Will Start. Robinson/Gay/Jenkins will battle for the nickle and dime spots. So much depth now...

2. Charles Brown- Signals the end of Jammal Brown in N.O. The team will attempt to trade him I think. Brown makes the line younger, and bigger. And with Sean Payton's success of developing O-lineman, this pick was great value

3. Jimmy Graham- Favorite Pick of the Draft! Comes in, can learn from Shockey, and replace him without missing a strong. Tall (6'6), and ran a 4.5 at the combine. Brees will LOVE HIM

4. Al Woods- Meh, not sure if it was worth the trade, has been accused of not playing to his potential. Lets hope the coaching staff works on that.

5- Matt Tennant- Another pick I love. Goodwin is getting old. Hopefully Tennant pans out and can replace him in a few years

7- Sean Canfield- Why?

DARREN SHARPER IS BACK WOOOO!
