The New Orleans Saints got some good news Monday: starting cornerback Tracy Porter will not need surgery.
Porter left Sunday's 28-23 win over St. Louis in the third quarter with what looked like a knee injury.
Porter was helped to the sideline and then carted off the field. He was scheduled for an MRI to examine his ACL.
Head coach Sean Payton said the results came back negative -- meaning a key component of the Saints defense could return some time during the regular season.

Second biggest game in Franchise History next week. Everyone will be back but Porter. Im worried who will cover Welker. They are talking sticking Jenkins on Moss with Usama Young, Roman Harper, and Darren Sharper giving him help over the top, with Greer taking Welker. Hopefully Christ Mcallister will be ready to go. I cant fucking wait |

| Huge game! One thing is for sure, it will probably be decided on the last drive of the game and be similar to the score when the Pats played the Colts last week.
Just sucks its on MNF, I hate those games. |

I haven't crunched the remaining games, yet, but can't the Saints clinch a playoff spot Monday night with a win?
I know if Atlanta loses and they win, then the division is theirs, but I think that with the tie-breakers, beating the Patriots alone might be good enough. |

I will definitely be cheering for the Saints when the play the Pats. Trying to get some help with a secure lock on second place in the AFC.

But now with the Bengals losing and denver probably out of the picture if we can win out we probably get it. |

| Part of being that good is you have to get a little lucky, it happened for the patriots in 2007. There were a couple games they could have lost but found a way to win and/or got handed the game.
I can see the Patriots winning monday but it should be a barn burner. |

Multiple sources report that the New Orleans Saints will add former number one cornerback Mike McKenzie to the active roster.
McKenzie, who was traded to the Saints in 2005 from the Green Bay Packers, suffered two knee injuries in his time with New Orleans including a season-ending broken knee cap last season.
The 33-year old has apparently recovered enough to be deemed a useful addition for the 10-0 Saints, who face the New England Patriots next week in the Superdome on Monday night.
The 6-foot, 195 pounder has 27 interceptions in his 10 years in the NFL.
