Dolphins after Joshua Cribbs, initial offer per ESPN 850 is Ted Ginn Jr plus some sort of draft pick compensation.
Thoughts: Ginn Jr. is nothing to me besides another WR project with some above averafe return skills. The picks part is getting interesting. the Browns have i believe 11 picks in the 2010 draft already to blow. The addition of more is making me think Mangina is perhaps trying to gather enough ammo to take a shot at a pair of top 10 picks with a uncapped year looming...
By the way i take nothing less than Ronnie Brown and the 2010 second round pick...
I don't understand this for Miami. Ginn hasn't done much, but he is still the better receiver. Why would they be the ones throwing in the picks? Could Mangini actually being doing something worthwhile for once?

I was for legalization of marijuana until I read that last part.
some of my comments from another thread on the subject with a Dolphins fan...
**You are all vastly underrating Cribbs value to a team like the Dolphins. They have it all and could add the BEST field position player in the NFL. Oh and he scores as well and would be the true Wildcat QB with the ability to run and THROW the ball.
We take nothing less than Ronnie Brown and the 2010 second round pick.
**You called us. You have legit playoff possibilities. He is the perfect fit for your offense. Does anyone realize that 5 of Cribbs 16 punt returns have gone for 20+ yards. Thats once a game he will give your offense field position that should result in atleast a FG. With your offense i bet 50% of those atleast could be TD's. Cribbs with his special teams ability alone adds 3-6 points A WEEK to a good offense. Now lets talk Wildcat, lets talk about how he may very well be the best defensive special teams player in the league as well.
Ronnie and the 2 or take your chances that Brady and Sanchez continue to struggle...
Cleveland Media: Bruce Drennan from "All Bets Are Off" just confirmed that this rumor does have legitimate legs and that it is rumored that Miami is offering Ginn, Roth and draft pick(s). At first glance, I think the draft pick(s) are what could get this deal done for Mangini and Co. You know how he loves the draft picks.
roto world: Along with Miami, the Chiefs, Raiders, and Colts have also reportedly shown interest in trading for Browns KR/WR Josh Cribbs.
The Browns don't seem interested in restructuring Cribbs' contract, and they're not going to be competitive any time soon. A Pro Bowl special teamer may be a luxury they can't afford, so it's worth see what kind of draft-pick package they can get in return. Cribbs would likely require a new contract wherever he winds up
Josh Cribbs isn't worth Ronnie Brown's jock strap, yet alone Ronnie and a pick in the round that has netted us 3 starters and Pat White in the past 2 drafts... There is validity to us looking into Cribbs (especially since our KR is done for the year)... but what the fuck is Cleveland interested in Ginn for? do they think Anderson to Ginn is the answer to their problems? I'd try to get Lex Hilliard from Miami, I think he could start in Cleveland.

You realize that Ronnie Brown is our offense, and our main puzzle piece for a playoff run right? Josh Cribs may be able to run the Wildcat, but there is nobody in football (Cribbs, Vick, Pat White, Brad Smith, etc.) that is nearly as good as Ronnie Brown. A great return man would be great, and I would welcome it... but not at the expense of our best player, who is a far more valuable player than Josh Cribbs is.
The dolphins Are fucking high, drunk and on acid if they do this deal. Cribbs is good and would fit in miami, but Ginn is good and can be better. I wouldn't do it if I were the dolphins even if it was Ginn for Cribbs and a second round pick. This sounds like a trade some 12 year old browns fan did on madden and decided to begin a rumor about it.
According the nfl.com the 49ers have also contacted them about Cribbs. I don't know what they would be offering besides picks and maybe a WR like Jason Hill or Arnaz Battle. Id love to have Cribbs, especially after releasing Allen Rossum instead of Michael Spurlock (bad move).
The Browns got nothing for Edwards, their first round pick, and Kellen Edwards. Now, they're going to get one of the better backs in the league and a draft pick.
This would be an incredible turn of events. I'd liken it to the Obamabots on this board suddenly being for both wars.

If I'm Miami I consider this deal if it's Ginn for Cribbs straight up. That's as pricey as I'd go. It's not fair market value, but when you consider contract lengths, and the fact that this is a mid-season deal, that would be my limit.
Chad Henne looks like a legit QB, so I wouldn't be too quick to take someone away he'd been practicing with since he signed with the Dolphins.
If this were the offseason, then I'd look at a deal comparable to what New England gave Miami for Wes Welker,
