KMoney's NFL Power Ranks Week 4
1. (1) Colts (3-0)

3-0 and they aren’t at full strength and are winning convincingly. 2 of their top 3 wr’s from last year are gone and Peyton Manning is having a better year. Peyton is the best QB in the league and I have always thought that and will continue to say so. The defense has been just as good and held a top offense to 10 points this week. However, they could fall out of number one with all of these injuries continuing to pile up.
2. (2) Saints (3-0)

0 touchdowns from Drew Brees, yet they still win by 20. The defense is extremely underrated and the reason is because the offense overshadows them. This week against the Jets should be one of the best games if not the best game of the week.
3. (3) Giants (3-0)

Although they played the bucs that shut out was impressive. This defense has been top notch for the most part of the season. The running game has been great as expected, but the passing game is being too conservative. If the running game ever gets shut down the offense could be in trouble. Eli has a good arm I’d like to see them take some risks down field like they did when they had Burress.
4. (4) Ravens (3-0)

I can’t believe how well this offense has been playing this year. The ravens are supposed to be a defensive team, right? I have been a big Flacco fan since he was drafted. He is the key to this team’s success. Although they haven’t played anyone too good yet, they have been winning big. As long as the running game can run somewhat well, this team will be dangerous.
5. (6) Vikings (3-0)

Was that luck? No it was G-Lew. He doesn’t catch many passes, but when he does they are always big passes, that was by far the biggest catch of his career and maybe even Brett Favre’s career. Admit it, you. me and everyone else was not expecting this from Favre. I said all he had to do was be solid and smart, he is acting like he has been a Viking for years and never questioned retiring. Now the big story is Favre’s return to Green Bay. This will be a great game, and the defense will need to play well in order to win the game.
6. (8) Jets (3-0)

The defense has been the key to the jets success, this week they’ll face most likely their toughest test this year against the saints. I think Sanchez is solid, not a stud quite yet, but solid is all he needs to be with the defense playing so well. He’ll face a tough defense on the road so we’ll see how the rookie handles it.
7. (9) Eagles (2-1)

To win without your starting QB, RB, and WR should encourage a team, it did, but it really shouldn’t, they beat the chiefs. I’m not taking anything away from them; Kolb has exceeded everyone’s expectations. Considering they have a good amount of backups starting on both sides of the ball they look great and have depth to the roster. Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, Kevin Curtis and possibly some offensive linemen will be back in 2 weeks, not to mention the return of a fan favorite in Jeremiah Trotter. If he still has it is anyone’s guess, regardless he could bring some enthusiasm and excitement back to the defensive side of the ball.
8. (10) Patriots (2-1)

Tom Brady still is nowhere close to the player he was 2 years ago. His accuracy is off, for him. He is missing open receivers which he never does. Fred Taylor was the offensive player of the game rushing for over 100 yards which not many would’ve expected to see all year. The defense played well and shut down Matt Ryan to under 200 yards and no touchdowns and Michael Turner to only 56 total yards. We all know what the patriots can be; we’re just waiting for it to occur.
9. (7) Falcons (2-1)

Tough loss to a good team. The offense was absolutely shut down and looked as bad as they’ll look this year. They have their bye week and it’s a good week to regroup and fix their mistakes. They are a good team and should come back firing.
10. (12) Packers (2-1)

They had a nice bye week, or wait, that was just the rams. They have one of their biggest games of the year this week against the Vikings and the storyline of the week, Brett Favre faces the packers. If they win they are in first place in the division. They put up 36 points, but the offense didn’t look as good as the score showed. The defense also gave up 17 points which usually doesn’t look bad, but since it was the rams and Kyle Boller, it doesn’t look good. Regardless, they won and have looked good so far this season and should have a great game against the Vikings this weekend.
11. (13) Cowboys (2-1)
That was two completely different teams who played last night for the cowboys. At halftime they were booed off the field and came out looking like a playoff team in the second half winning 21-0. The running game has been arguably the best in the league so far which is the main reason they won last night. Not to mention the defense played great in the first half and even better in the second. They’ll need to put a little consistency together in order to have a legitimate playoff chance.
12. (15) 49ers (2-1)
That loss beats the bills loss to the patriots for second worst loss of the year behind the Bengals loss to the broncos. They lost Frank Gore and still played great all game long to lose on a last second hail mary to a player who has been cut two times this year. Regardless the way this team has looked this year is almost as big of a turnaround as the dolphins had last year. The defense is in the top 10 and the offense has been solid behind Frank Gore. However, Gore is out, so we’ll see how the offense responds.
13. (23) Bengals (2-1)
I really liked this team earlier this year, and then thought they looked terrible, now I think they look great again. That was a huge win to come back late in the game and score on the champs to win the game. The offense has been okay this year, but it is the defense, yes the defense of the Bengals, who have been carrying them this year. If it wasn’t for a lucky tipped pass for a touchdown against the broncos this team would be 3-0.
14. (5) Steelers (1-2)
How badly does this team need Troy Polamalu? If he plays that game, there is no way they give up a touchdown on the last drive. The running game has finally picked it up a little and Mike Wallace is showing that he is a threat on offense. The steelers could be in a bit of trouble since the Ravens look like a top tier team and the Bengals are showing potential to be a playoff team.
15. (18) Chargers (2-1)
They still need to prove to me how good they are. They beat the raiders and the dolphins both winless. They lost to the ravens who were the only average or better team so far they’ve played. They’ll face a steelers team who aren’t playing as well as they should be, but a win would give them a lot more credibility.
16. (20) Bears (2-1)
Jay Cutler is showing why the bears traded for him. He made clutch passes late in the game to seal the win. The running game looked poor, but the passing game and defense made up for it. After losing their best player the bears have shown that they can overcome the loss and prove people wrong, including myself.
17. (11) Bills (1-2)
I think this team could be better than 17, they lost to two very good teams one being that heartbreaker against the patriots. T.O. has zero catches which ending his streak of 185 games with a catch. A lot of people are doubting and writing this team off, but I don’t think they realize the two teams they lost to. The bills could get back some respect with a couple wins.
18. (16) Seahawks (1-2)
Seneca Wallace didn’t look terrible, however if Matt Hasselbeck was behind center they would be 2-1. There are other key injuries as well, but this team simply isn’t clicking offensively. If they can get a full strength team on the field they can win that division, however when being healthy is harder than winning that’s an issue of its own.
19. (17) Cardinals (1-2)
They really don’t look like the team who finished so hot last year. Kurt Warner is showing his age and the defense has been getting rolled over. If things continue to go downhill I’d expect Boldin to start running his mouth about a trade rather than a new contract.
20. (26) Broncos (3-0)
I never expected nor do I ever expect to have a 3-0 team at 20. But who have they played? One of the luckiest wins of all time against the Bengals, the 0-3 raiders and the 0-3 Browns. Those 3 wins aren’t saying much for them and they’ll probably hit a brick wall real fast when they face a good team. I don’t think they’ll reach 7 wins.
21. (27) Jaguars (1-2)
That was a must win for this team and they came through big time. The defense still gave up a good amount of points but MJD ran all over the Texans. People expected big things from them a couple years ago, so maybe if they get another couple wins they’ll be in talks about a possible AFC title run, doubt it though. They’ll play a tough winless team this week and it would actually be a huge win.
22. (24) Texans (1-2)
The Texans defense has been a huge let down this season. The offense has some weapons, but not enough to make up for the defenses flaws. Steve Slayton had a better game, but still isn’t putting up the numbers people expected from him. So far he is having somewhat of a sophomore slump.
23. (14) Titans (0-3)
They are having the complete opposite year compared to last season. Being the last undefeated team last year to possible competition for last winless team this year is a terrible sign for this team. They haven’t been getting killed and have been losing close ones so it doesn’t seem that there is too much wrong with this team besides the obvious fact that they simply can’t win.
24. (19) Panthers (0-3)
How disappointing is this team. They go into halftime with the opposing fans booing the cowboys and the panthers have a huge momentum boost going into halftime. However they came out in the second half and stayed away from their bread and butter, the run. They for some reason decided to pass the ball in the second half with a QB who’s on pace to break the turnover record. If they would have handed the ball to DeAngelo Williams, they would have won that game and still have hope to make the playoffs. Now they may be in talks to snag the top QB in the draft.
25. (21) Redskins (1-2)
This offense is awful and it shouldn’t be. They have tons of talent on both ends of the ball and they can’t score. Jim Zorn should be fired already after losing to the lions. Clinton Portis should not be the option on goal line plays because he is getting stuffed everytime. Whether that is his fault of the line they need to switch things up and give it to a bigger back or big Jason Campbell. Campbell has been playing great and nobody seems to acknowledge it because he’s not getting as many touchdowns, but he’s been great, the coach has been awful.
26. (22) Dolphins (0-3)
Chad Pennington is done for the season, and I don’t think it’s too big of a loss. He has played great, but in the QB role on this team I believe their backups will have similar success. The wild cat needs to be used more because it is the only thing working for this team offensively. let’s see if they can turn their season around and win a couple big upcoming games.
27. (30) Lions (1-2)
Detroit can begin to take the brown paper bags off their heads, they won. They still aren’t good, but they’re taking strides away from being awful. Stafford didn’t throw an interception which should be a victory in itself for him. I still really like the moves they made this offseason and if they develop this team could get back into competition soon.
28. (25) Raiders (1-2)
I think Jeff Garcia will be signed this if not next week. That would be the smart thing at least. They rushed Jamarcus Russell and because of that he is the worst starting QB in the league. I’ve never seen a QB go an entire game and throw for 61 yards 0 touchdowns and 2 interceptions; that’s discomforting. Considering almost all of their recent first round draft picks have been offensive players you’d think the offense would be pretty damn good.
29. (28) Chiefs (0-3)
Like I said, Matt Cassell is way overpaid. He was in a good system last year and only played one season; he needed to do some more proving. They have what seems to be a pissed off, depressed little baby of a running back in Larry Johnson who seems like he doesn’t even care which is killing them. The defense is pretty damn bad, this team is pretty damn bad.
30. (29) Browns (0-3)
Mangini needs to be fired and will be. They have a tough schedule and will probably start out with at least 9 to 10 straight losses. Benching Quinn is not a smart move, why? Well, they’ll be benching Anderson soon enough and putting Quinn back in and that’s just completely dismantling these QBs minds. This team is a mess and really shouldn’t be this bad, maybe it’s the coaching.
31. (31) Buccaneers (0-3)
The Jets defense is good, but c’mon 0 points? They benched Leftwich which is a good move since this team has no shot. The only question is when we’ll see Freeman. Once again they didn’t run enough; they ran the ball 7 times with running backs and 3 with QBs. This team will never get a win running the ball that little. The defense wasn’t awful which is not saying much, but they’re better than that offense.
32. (32) Rams (0-3)
Kyle Boller looked good, yeah that’s right, I said it. He’s no long term solution, but maybe for this season he should start and see where things go from there, like the #1 pick. They need help in almost every aspect and at almost every position. If they get more than 3 wins it’ll be a miracle.
