Congrats, you left one of the most passer friendly environments there is, to go to a place where QBs go to have their careers die... have fun, cry baby.
The #18 pick has to be in there, the question is what else?
I doubt next years #1 would be included unless there is some sort of performance clause to the trade based on how Cutler does.
Atleast 18 and next years 1st, contrary to what I believed, there was quite a bidding war apparently, with Washington, Detroit, New York and Tennessee, atleast for his services... the fact that they got him so quick, tells me that they threw 2 1sts at them, at the very least.

Good point. Why agree to the deal with others at the table unless you got what you wanted.

SHit, I'm really excited. I can't believe JA had the balls to really make the deal. Really excited to see what the team does now, they don't have anymore excuses for failure.
I realize it's a little high to give up Orton and 2 1st rounders, but you don't get the opportunity to get a franchise QB in his prime, and as long as we dont have an awful season (top 10 pick) then i think it will be worth it.
I think the Cutler to Hester connection will be huge. We still need to add more weapons (oline and wideout) for Cutler to thrive. Now let's see if the defense can get fixed.
I think Orton will be really good in Denver, not a superstar, but an above average starter. He impressed in Chicago and was a team player and toughed it out while showing some potential as a starter last season.

Updating an ongoing story, Mike Mulligan, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports the Denver Broncos will receive the Chicago Bears' first-round draft picks in 2009 and 2010, their third-round pick in 2009 and QB Kyle Orton in exchange for Broncos QB Jay Cutler and a fifth-round pick in 2009.

I am glad your guys stepped up to the plate. I did not want to see him in the AFC.
We lost both starting tackles. But our 1st round pick from last years draft Chris Williams, did not play all season and will step in and start at LT. So it's really just addressing RT and we signed two OT's in free agency (Frank Omiyale and Kevin Schaffer) neither are superstars but they should be capable replacements. The bigger issue on offense is the lack of receivers hopefully adding Cutler either helps inspire our current wideouts or entices a FA.
The bigger issue is the lost picks which we could use to fix the defense. All the news is focusing on the offense, but the defense was the biggest problem last season. Hopefully some coaching changes (Marinelli) and added Cutler reinvigorates the defensive players.
Breaking news on ESPN the bears sign Orlando Pace (if healthy a nice addition)
