Rep Power: 18 | | 2010 College Football Recruiting Thread Thought I would start a new thread for the 2010 recruiting class since I cannot seem to find the old recruiting thread.
I mostly follow the West and this is a huge year for recruiting in the West, especially Southern California.
Today, Cassius Marsh, an elite DT, de-committed from Cal and is looking at the SEC. Hearing that grades is the biggest reason for his de-commitment.
Also, UCLA RB Aundre Dean is transferring and he is choosing from three Texas schools (TCU, A&M, Baylor) and Iowa. I figured TyKixx would like that one.

Rep Power: 33 | | USC recently got a commit from RB Trajuan Briggs out of Van Nuys.
USC also offered 4-Star WR Kenny Stills, who is considered a sure thing to commit. Another offer went to Tennessee 4-Star OLB Jeremy Maclin, who said USC is in his Top 3, along with Bama and LSU.

My money is he goes to TCU, A&M has Cyrus Gray and Christine Michael and Robert Griffin will be a SR. by the time he's eligible and Iowa just does not fit his running style.
Cassius Marsh is about to cash in big time. He'll be a 5-star recruit by the end of the year.
Alabama just picked up a top 10 DE prospect in Craig Sanders. He's from Alabama and what a job Saban is doing, he won't let any top Alabama prospect leave state.

At least USC is back in the hunt for Marsh, but I'm thinking he's heading to LSU or Oklahoma.

Rep Power: 18 | | Dean just can't beat out any of the other running backs. Has nothing to do with fitting in at UCLA. He is last on the depth chart at running back.

Rep Power: 8 | | Ahmad Dixon one of the premeir safeties in this class, was a Texas commit early, but somehow Baylor was able to land a verbal after he backed off from Texas. Huge recruting coup for Art Briles. They had done a nice job in 2008 landing some good 3-stars and 4-stars but adding a player like Dixon could really boost this class. Watch out Baylor is on the rise.
COMMITS:
4-Stars:
Craig Sanders DE- Alabama
Keeston Terry WR- Nebraska
JaWuan Jones OT-Alabama
3-Stars:
Matt Jakeubiec OT- Arizona
Trajuan Briggs RB- USC
Jordan Zumwalt MLB -Stanford
Louis Young CB -Stanford
Troy Baker OT -Baylor
Zach Fogerson FB -Washington
Jose Jose C -Tennessee
Sheldon McClain WR -Oklahoma
Adam Shead OG -Oklahoma
Justin Hunter WR-LSU
Luke Graham OG -Penn State

Rep Power: 33 | | USC got a commit from the top punter in the nation, Matt Darr, who was also an all-league linebacker last year. Darr had offers from Alabama and LSU, among others.
Hopefully, he won't be used much.

| According to Scout, they've been busy. Their latest verbal came this weekend as 3-star guard Christian Pace from Avon Lake, Ohio, made his announcement. Last week, they got a verbal from DE Jordan Paskorz, a three-star recruit from PA.
They now have a dozen verbals, with the top guys being S Marvin Robinson, QB Devin Gardner and WR Ricardo Miller, all categorized as 4-star recruits.

Washington prep star Jake Heaps, who is rated by some recruiting Web sites as the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the country, has chosen BYU and will make the announcement this afternoon, The Salt Lake Tribune has learned.
A news release issued by a publicist on Wednesday noted that Heaps has made his college decision and will announce it today, although the time and place was not finalized. A source said it would take place in Provo, possibly at a location near LaVell Edwards Stadium.
"Heaps anticipates releasing more information regarding time and place as it becomes available," said the release.
Heaps, who is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has been scheduled for months to attend BYU's annual Junior Day, which is Friday in Provo.
According to the release, Heaps had offers from 26 programs as of June 1. He recently narrowed his list of favorites to BYU, Washington, LSU, California and Tennessee.
BYU and Washington have been considered the front-runners for the past few weeks.
Heaps is 28-0 as a starter for Skyline High in Sammamish, Wash., leading his team to state championships as a sophomore and a junior. |

Rep Power: 8 | | Im really surprised that Heaps picked BYU. Just very surprising. They also picked up 4-star LB Zac Stout and 3-Star WR Ross Apo. Not a bad coup for Bronco Mendenhall.
Penn State continued it's good class of 2010 picking up two standout offensive linemen center Miles Dieffenbach and tackle Tom Ricketts both of whom are 4-star prospects.
Alabama got a huge haul in 5-star CB DeMarcus Milliner the #1 CB in the nation
An interesting commit here, Tyler Gabbert the brother of Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert has commited to play for Nebraska. Setting up a possible brother vs. brother matchup in a huge rivalry game.
Other Commits
Christian Pace OG 3-Star- Michigan
Russell Bodine C 3-Star- North Carolina
Dallas Lloyd QB 3-Star- Stanford
Kris Catlin OLB 3-star- Oklahoma State
Kevin Johnson WR 3-Star- Oklahoma State
Princeton Collins 3-Star RB- Utah
Jeremy Richardson 3-Star WR Auburn
Brennan Clay 4-Star RB- Oklahoma

Rep Power: 18 | | Heaps has been BYU bound for a long time.
Some schools did not even bother recruiting him, because they knew he was going there.

| The real interesting thing about that is Blaine is not a real popular player among most Husker fans. Blaine was committed to Nebraska for quite a while before decommitting. Personally, and I think this is the more common way that most Husker fans look at it, I don't hold it against him, because he decommitted when Callahan was fired. I don't blame him for choosing to go somewhere else when the coach that recruited him gets the ax. But some Husker fans don't see it the same way.
