Rep Power: 15 | | If you believe Roy Williams will actually get fired, then I got some Toyota stock to sell you.

| If I didn't know about Toyota, I'd consider it. I know better than that. But 16-16, worst record in the freaking NIT, and you think Tarheel boosters are going to put up with this??? I stand by my prediction. One way or another, he's gone. I don't care if he's Roy Williams... There are certain things which are forever unacceptable in elite programs. |

| and which other elite program's boosters has celebrated two championships in the last five years? This is one year. He already has top notch recruiting classes lined up over the next two years. Maybe he gets fired for the "Haiti" comment and some of his other questionable moves, but 2 championships buys you ALOT of time. Just ask Gary Williams.

| Doesn't matter -- as the old song goes, What Have You Done For Me Lately? People say that firing Williams will make UNC into a joke? How much of a joke is it for (specifically) UNC Men's Basketball to be 16-16 and have to be gifted a spot just to get in the freaking NIT? |

Rep Power: 27 | | I know a great many Rams Club members, and several other informal UNC boosters. Not a single one of them wants Roy fired or replaced. It ain't happening.

| What has he done lately? How about a Championship less than a year ago? Not one other NCAA Basketball coach in Division 1 can say that.
The NIT doesn't gift wrap NIT spots anymore...UNC's selection is due to their .500 record, the RPI and SOS....which is good enough to be in this field. UConn is in the same position....why aren't you calling for Calhoun's head?
Riddle me this.....if they get rid of Roy....who will they hire? Coach K?

Rep Power: 0 | | 16-16 is THAT degree of Unacceptable. Who will they hire? If they're smart, they'll hire someone who can actually work to get them out of this mess. I can't believe there are actually UNC boosters who actually consider a 16-16 season acceptable for their mens' basketball program if they had Joe Sixpack coaching for them. |

Rep Power: 33 | | This is really a silly argument. Roy Williams is never going to get fired from UNC unless he has multiple .500 seasons which I don't anticipate.

| You are simply upset with the record but are thinking extremely short term. Look at his salary. That alone compels the UNC boosters to keep him. You really want to pay that cash for him to flyfish for the next, what, eight years? Plus, even if money were not an issue, who would you get to coach next? Pat Riley? Seriously, one bad year is not that bad when you see the recent record and realize what is in place for the seasons to come.
There is no one, no coach, no alum, no sportscaster, who has or can allege he is going to be canned. In short, Roy Williams is no Linkliter, and Linkliter got 3 years to fail in Hawkeyeland.

| 16-16 in UNC is like 4-28 anywhere else. It's not acceptable for UNC, and I find it unfathomable that it is seen otherwise. This isn't Hawkeyeland. This is about one of the four or five college basketball powerhouses over the last 20-30 years. |

Rep Power: 2 | | Tar Heels will be back next year. Roy will have them again recruiting one of the best classes. Tar Heels will again be competing for an ACC title next year. Of course if the Tar Heels are 16-16 again next year, Roy could be in danger. I dont think they will be looking at these results again next year. If I were a betting man, I'd say UNC wins the ACC next year. |

| First of all, Carolina's been a powerhouse for a lot more than 20-30 years. Know your history.
Second, no program is immune to a down year.
Third, anyone who knows shit about hoops knows that Roy Williams is one of the best coaches in the game. He's a Hall of Famer. He won two NCs in four years. I don't think that there are more than five coaches who have ever had that kind of run.
Fourth, know your basketball. This team didn't lose because of X's and O's - they lost because they did not have the right pieces, because they did not mesh, and because they were terribly affected by injuries all year. Is that Roy's fault? Sure, in large part. He mis-analyzed point guard talent. But check the guy's track record with point guards. I can't think of another one that he's ever missed on. (By the way, I'm hearing that Drew two will not be in blue next year, but you didn't hear that from me.) He's got a stellar PG coming next year, along with the best HS player in the land. They'll be green, but they'll be damn good.
Starcade, you're showing your ass on this one. There's not a respected voice in the country who agrees with you. Sorry, dude.

| Wow, so are they revoking Drew's scholarship or they will just convince him to transfer. He has been a huge mistake so far. And you also said that Davis won't be back either. This team will be green, but Henson will grow...the recruits coming in should be good and now Roy has a couple of scholarships to play with...maybe make a run at Selby or Brandon Knight.

| I hear he wants to go back to Cali, but that not all of the Cali teams he's interested in are all that interested. I don't think Roy would send him packing - as I understand it, it's Drew's call. And the word on Davis is that he's reconsidering in light of more recent estimates of his draft value.
I think you'll see at least two freshmen starting in Chapel Hill next year, which is pretty crazy. They've also been scouting JC PGs. Still could be a very good season if things pan out.

Rep Power: 9 | | I think the guy is a massive ego maniac, but he is no way going to get fired.
Like many have said, to NCAA Tournament Championships will buy him some time to fix this little problem he is facing.

Rep Power: 15 | | I go to UNC. Roy is going nowhere. We won the Championship last year.
The fact you would even bring up his name on the hot seat is so outlandish it isnt even funny.

| Update: Drew isn't going anywhere. Ed Davis is gone.
