This requires a trip to the list for sleaving, smith, and anyone else who posts seriously.

I was hoping this was a picture thread with some of the hotter chicks in the WNBA.
I assume there are some ???

I have no problem with posters taking issue with those who are taking shots at the WNBA. I am not a fan of the WNBA but I am not looking to wreck a fledgling sport. I will espouse the merits of college women's basketball and grew up in Iowa where crazy ass C. Viv coached until she was confirmed batshit nuts.
In the same vein, can someone kindly explain to me how anyone defending the WNBA could equate the fact that the NHL is on some fucking Outdoor channel while the WNBA is on ESPN as some sort of merit for one sport or demerit for the other? What did any fans of pro hockey to do to deserve Gary Bettman or the NHL owner and player decision to strike? Exactly how does slamming a sport that got neutered by greed elevate your sport?
For those keeping score at home, I posted clear back when Vox and Homer were on the site that I would use my consumer dollars to support the NFL after the NHL went on strike. Since that debauchery, I have gone to pro football games, strongly support fantasy pro football, and have bought my family substantial gear. You know what I did for the NHL? I have watched about all of five games since the strike ended. I have never gone to another game or put another dime into those bastards. But am I or others responsible for the pathetic state of the NHL or for that matter lumped in with people who took shots at the WNBA because I grew up on minor league hockey and had no role to play in pro hockey self-emulsion? I think not.
I will make one more prediction. If Upshaw manages to cause a work stoppage, I will destroy one item of my NFL gear each and every week until it is all gone or the strike is over and if they blow up the league, rest assured I will be looking forward to re-evaluating the merits of the WNBA, or for that matter pro basketball.
Mystics/Dream game was aweosme! You girl Beard dropped 25 in the win. McWilliams-Franklin did good too with 19 pts and 9 boards. Lennox for the Dream was the only one keeping the game close, Mystics just couldnt stop her. No biggie though, Mystics won so it was all good
By the way, I got an extra ticket to the Mystics/Sparks game this Sat if you wann roll? My team will blow up and smoke your Mystics. You just cant stop Parker and Leslie! If you decide to go though, you gotta wear your Beard authenic

In all seriousness are you a girl? Not even tryin to be an ass i've just never heard a guy talk about the WNBA in a serious manner.

Damn... no I am no a girl, and that's surprising to me that you don't know any other guys in the WNBA. If you're a fan of the pure game of basketball, I challenge you to watch a game and see it in it's true form. It's an incredible sport and the college athletes genuinely translate to the professional level. Not to mention, if you like to throw money around on the line, it's awfully exciting... I am up 2K already two weeks into the season... like shooting fish in a barrel...

sleaving, the thing you gotta understand about some of the guys here is that they are not going to accept anything out of the norm in terms of sports. Mens football, Mens basketball (pro or college), Mens hockey, Mens baseball are the only manly sports to watch. Add in women's beach volleyball for the small uniforms, and watching cheerleaders is always allowable.
I've never been one to watch the WNBA on TV, but then again I don't watch the NBA and only watch college basketball during March Madness. I wouldn't mind watching a game of Pittsburgh's women's football team if I were to have tickets offered to me, but I've never seen a game yet. I do watch the Women's College World Series every May/June on ESPN and ESPN2 - I usually am an Arizona fan, and I refuse to cheer on UCLA, but I'm usually okay rooting for a number of other teams.
And my reason for watching the WCWS isn't necessarily to see hot chicks play a sport (some are very good looking), but moreso because I was friends with a number of softball players in high school and became a fan of the sport after attending most of my friends' games.
And knowing some of the guys on this site, I'll get put on "the List" for admitting to watching college softball.
Keep posting on the WNBA, and any other sports you follow, and maybe we'll see some additional sports talk on here, and maybe even pull in some new members. Or perhaps some members will branch out and become fans of other sports/leagues.
No worries bpow... I guess I understand if someone does not think it's manly because it's played by women... but all the guys that are in my baseball, football, hockey and hoops fantasy leagues do the wnba league I am in... and I know they follow it in some regards.
I didn't mean to offend anyone by posting about it...
grc
Screw 'em if they are offended. It is sports related and the girls do show some mad skill.
I still hope you post the "hottest Chicks of the WNBA"

I watched it when it originally came out and it was just boring to me and even every once in a while i'll try to watch but just can't if thats your cup of tea then great but i just wasn't sure if you were joking or not.
I sucks that people are saying the WNBA is a joke and putting it down. I used to be the same way till I actually watched a game and went to one. But these girls bust thier butt and play hard!
