You say Josh Smith is bad? I dont know why, he would be phenominal on the defensive side and can play inside/out unlike Iggy.. He also doesnt need to touch the ball as much as Iggy does who has the ball entirely too much.. Shelden Williams is a player i really DO NOT want.. he is a 6'8 260 PF who, i think, simply wont translate well to the pro game.. he hasnt done much as of late... Channing Frye is an OK option but we can definitely find better... I would be completely satisfied with Brandan Wright.. hes a nice big athletic PF that can become something in the future..
Andre Miller to Atlanta for Anthony Johnson, Tyronne Lue, Lorenzen Wright, and Pick(s).
All 3 players are expiring and we'd pick up an extra pick.
We could also incorporate Reggie Evans into this deal since Atl is thin on the front line. Evans would allow Philly to dump even more salary. If Evans is thrown in we could get Shelden Williams in return or maybe another expiring like Childress, although I don't think Atl would want Evans if they didn't trade S.Williams. I also don't think they'd trade Childress to get Evans, but if they want Miller bad enough it is a possibility. Maybe even Evans and Wilie Green and then both Childress expiring and Shelden Williams. A lot of flexibility with a potential deal involving Miller to Atl.
Andre Miller to Orlando for Carlos Arroyo, Keyon Dooling, Pat Garrity, and the rights to Fran Vazquez and/or Pick(s). (Redick is garbage)
Again this is mainly a salary dumping move as Dooling, Arroyo, and Garrity are all expiring.
Vazquez was a former lottery pick. A PF who has stayed in Europe. I have no idea what his situation is, but he may be worth trying to acquire since in a trade like this there would be little downside.
Andre Miller to Portland for Jarrett Jack, Channing Frye, and Joel Pryzbilla.
I don't really like this deal cause I think Frye is garbage, I also don't think Portland would do it, but someone else mentioned Portland so I threw it together.
We'd be left with...
PG- Lou Williams / Jarret Jack
SG- Andre Igoudala / 1st rd pick
SF- Thaddeus Young / Rodney Carney
PF- Jason Smith / Channing Frye
C- Samuel Dalembert / Joel Pryzbilla
Andre Miller back to Denver for Eduardo Najera, Von Wafer, JR Smith, and Pick(s).
Najera and Wafer would come off the books. JR Smith is a talented yung player and would give us a 3 pt shooter. The pick could actually turn into a lottery pick with the West being so loaded.
Philly Trades: Andre Miller
Philly Gets: Daniel Gibson, Luis Scola, Kirk Snyder, Ira Newble, L.Head/A.Brooks.
Scola gives us an affordable PF option. We'd add a a 3 pt threat in Gibson. Head/Brooks, whichever Houston would deal, would add good depth at the G position, and could be even more valuable if Iggy did leave. Snyder and Newble are expiring.
Cleveland Trades: Drew Gooden, Daniel Gibson, Ira Newble
Cleveland Gets: Andre Miller
Losing Gooden would leave them thin across the frontline, but if they want a PG bad enough they may bite.
Houston may want to beef up the PF spot in response to the moves being made up front out west. They have a logjam in the backcourt so I'd think they'd be willing to move either Head or Brooks.
If we don't get a 1st somehow (in this years stacked draft).. I don't want to make the move.
If we can get a 1st for Kyle Korver (we now have 2, our own and Utahs) then I want to get at least a 1st for Andre Miller. Of course.. we could always resign him ourselves. I really like Andre as a player and as a person, so that wouldn't bother me at all.

I included a pick in almost every single one of those deals.

It's not that I hate Josh Smith or think he's bad, I just think he is too much like Iguodala and Thad Young. I'd prefer to get a true power forward who can score in the post. If you notice, Josh Smith either camps out on the wings or makes the dunk on a fastbreak. I want a PF who can back anybody up.
I don't think having three similar forwards is a good idea.
Wright probably won't be traded, but I thought I would throw that out there.

that 1st for Korver isn't this year. it's not until 2010 and it's lottery protected.

WTF I thought it was this year.
That deals sucks balls now, why the hell did we do that?

Because now we can afford to sign a player that is better than Kyle Korver. Korver is 1 dimensional and won't be missed in the long run. Reddick is a shitty version of Korver. It was still a good trade.

exactly, it was strictly a money move. The Sixers just wanted the cap space for the summer.
Iggy's not going to resign with us.. who else is out there
I think it was move for the Free agent class class of 2009 which is strong. But it was mostly to get Thad Young more playing time. Notice how much is minutes gone up since the trade. If there not going to win might as well get the young guys playing time. That's why I would like to see Miller go. He's a good player but him helping win a few games here and there isn't doing much. Trade him, see if Lou Williams can handle being a full time PG. By the time this team is mature enough to compete Miller will be way past his prime. Also it seems that they are putting together a young athletic team that can run the floor. Miller at his age won't be the guy to do that in 2 years. His value will never be higher with the amount of teams that need a verteran PG. Trade him now, you could get a nice deal.
I dont know whether to root for the sixers this year so that they can barely make the playoffs, or for them to go on a losing streak so they can get a top five pick. They will probably end up doing what they always do, which is come up a couple teams short of making playoffs and getting a 10 to 15 pick in the draft.

As long as they hold on to Miller that exactly what's going to happen, or even pssibly make the playoffs in the 8th seed and get destroyed in the 1st round. Which would be so stupid knocking them out of the lottery
Also, there's the feeling now that Iguodala won't resign with us and will play the FA market. Going to the highest bidder (which could be us if you wanna play him big time top-10 player money -I don't-)
Rather than trade Miller, maybe we should trade Iggy? At least one of the Andres will stay and play for us.
