MLB Baseball revenue sharing. The system

Revenue sharing a mess - ESPN

As a Yankee fan, obviously I am biased toward the system and I enjoy it. My team spends money to win, and this year it worked. Others view the system with continual complaints.

In this article, it shows how much money these small revenue teams are receiving. 1 number it states is that some teams pocket as much as 90 million from revenue sharing. That means it pays for ALL the salaries and then some without even selling a ticket or factoring in endorsements.

The article also mentioned a salary floor, which was shot down few years back. If you force teams to spend a certain amount, wouldn't it be good for baseball? It's not coming out of their own pockets anyway.

Where is all the money going?
If for example, the marlins receive heck 70 mil from MLB, only pay 20 mil for players, where are all the profits? Add in

Ticket sales
Parking
Concession
stadium sponsorships.

yea it is a crime what organizations like the Marlins do. No reason not to spend more.

Those numbers are complete fiction. However, that being said, it's no secret that some of the worst franchises in the league are also the most profitable.
