My Fantasy Team

I had the 2nd pick in a 12 team league. 6 points for all TD's, 10 yards per point for RB/Wr, and 30 yards per point for QBs.

DEF: New York Giants, Tennessee

I am very weak at QB until Big Ben comes back. My RBs after AP are iffy. I really like my wideouts and tightends. Any other input would be greatly appreciated guys

Get 8 teams

Random draft order snake wise.
Instead of choosing players you choose from the 32 NFL teams.

Their would be 4 rounds each owner ends up with 4 NFL teams to choose from and they can manage their roster from those 4 teams.
Figured it could be an interesting twist on the standard fantasy football game that we know.

If anyone is interested I'll set it up on Yahoo as a standard scoring league.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said he's not following the HBO show "Hard Knocks," which is featuring the New York Jets' training camp this summer, during Brady�s weekly appearance on WEEI radio in Boston on Monday.

Brady added that he's sure it's great televison, according to the Globe account.

Trade advise

Thought Id entice a little advise out of SRM.

This is for my money PPR Keeper league.

My keepers are listed below. The "RS" next too Britt means Redshirt, which is basically an extra keeper that I'm allowed to carry over because I designated him too the extra roster spot at the beginning of last season without playing him all season.

Roddy White
Wes Welker
Kenny Britt (RS)

In the league I can start up too 3 RB, up too 3 WR, multiple TEs or any combination. I've been trying too unload Welker to gain another starter.

Would you guys offer Wes Welker straight up for Dallas Clark? I also thought about trying to try to trade Welker for J Finley and some draft position in the first round (too the 2nd overall pick). My goal is to grab a Very good 5th starter. That way I can grab the best available young RB with my first pick and a starting QB with the 2nd round pick (QBs score a lot in this league and a lot are being kept.).

2 players can be tagged from the year before in the round they were drafted in and can only be kept for 1 year than they go back into drafting pool.

I got R. Rice in the 10th, and R. Mendenhall in the 15th.

My team is stacked in hindsight might have over-reached on too many WRs

The weird thing about this league is teams are so stacked that it really comes down to managing match ups and putting in your optimal lineup.

Post draft I dropped J.Jones and Manningham and added San Diego DEF and Gostowski wondering if I should jettison someone else and re-pick one of those WR to start week 1.

Since Jackson, Rice, are both hurt or not playing.

Or do I just ride the first few weeks with Floyd, and Ward as my WR3. Kind of want to package a RB and Ward for WR upgrade. I think Foster might be a good buzz guy to trade but than again also a viable keeper if he blows up, but Ben Tate scares me a bit.

Commissioner Conundrum

I am hosting our 8th annual fantasy football draft this year. One thing I've learned over the years is to maintain continuity within the points system, playoff rules, and other miscellaneous criterion that affect a season of fantasy football. It's simple, people are averse change; if nothing is broken there is no need to fix it. Anyways, my draft is in about a week and I am at a stalemate with another owner. I decided to tweak the payout structure. Here is the change:
2009
10 teams $50.00 entree fee/head to head
Champion- $300.00
Runner up- $50
Reg Season winner- $150
2010
12 teams $50.00 entree fee/points only
Champion-$300
Runner up-$50
Reg Season Team of the week (based on pt total)- $20 on a given week dispersed through 13 weeks of regular season play, with a cumulative payout of $250.
This gives all teams a shot at winning some money or cutting their losses on any given week. How often do teams fall to 0-7 and call it quits. This system will give the incentive to win even if they have no shot at making the playoffs.
Another owner said this tweak will award too many teams from getting shit lucky on any given week. The regular season is a much larger sample than the playoffs, not to discredit winning the ship, but to me maintaining consistency throughout the regular season is a true indication of a good fantasy football team. Though considering playoffs matchups prior to draft selection is held at a premium, for the most part a team who turns it on in the playoffs after a poor season is blessed with luck.
So I ask you-SRM-does my tweak of the regular season payouts reward consistency? Most importantly, should I implement this new change? Why/why not. Help a brother out here, I�ve got turpentine on my tale here with only a few days left till the draft.:eek:
