Has anyone gotten this game? 360 or PS3? My birthday just passed and my bro wants to get me a game, but didn't know which ones I wanted or have. I'm getting Gears tomorrow and I'm deciding on Fallout 3, the new call of duty, the new smackdown vs Raw and NCAA March Madness 2009.
I'm planning on getting them all regardless one as a gift a couple on my own and the rest for Christmas.
I've heard all good things about the game. So for anyone who's played or seen it, should I get it? And what other game is it like? Looks like a half life type of game.
I don't understand the reviews. Two of my friends bought it, they say they love it, but they got it the day it was released and have put about 2-4 hours into it & I never see them play it anymore. I told them I hated it, and they acted like I was crazy.
It's RPG in an empty world. The world is an eye-sore unlike Oblivion. It's terrible as a shooter - you spend all your income on ammo & you have to buy bullets with bottle caps.
They said the map would be almost as big as Oblivion - I'd say it's about 1/10 to 1/15th the size.
Another guy I know bought it. He is one of the biggest geeks I've ever met. (He is like 28, lives with his parents, works part-time, has EVERY system, and spends all his money buying almost every game relased for each system). His gamerscore is like 40,000. Anyway, he loves it. It seems like all the giant dorks played the first two for PC and love this one.

Don't listen to this tool, I highly recommend this game.
Never played the others.. but I like this game. One thing, like Oblivion, the game has yet to suck me in, I'm hoping it becomes like that.. rather than a chore, but whatever, I like alot of the ideas in the game. It reminds me alot of Mad Max, and that's instant awesome points IMO.
I do wish it was more of a FPS though.. it's really not. You'll have your target on the guys face from 5 ft away and still missing, and it'll take 12 of your 20 bullets that cost ridiculous amounts and are incredibly rare to the guys head to take him down.
So is this game like Oblivion? I know Oblivion is good, but i wasn't a huge fan of it I thought it was a bit too boring/slow for my taste. But everyone loved it. I'm very impatient at times when it comes to video games that's why i'm asking.

lol - yes, it is the exact same engine & design team as oblivion. it is pretty much oblivion, but guns instead of magic. maybe you should rent it first, because if you did not like oblivion - you will not like fallout.
